YCare Breakfast Warehouse

Parkinson, QLD Industrial
.

Overview

WLC Group was proud to deliver the YCare Breakfast Warehouse in Parkinson, a purpose-built facility designed to support YCare's vital mission of providing breakfast to thousands of school children across South-East Queensland.

The development includes a tilt-panel warehouse with loading facilities, packing, racking and storage areas, cold room and freezer storage, reception and waiting areas, offices, open-plan workspaces, staff amenities, kitchen facilities and meeting rooms.

The facility was specifically designed to optimise the food distribution process, allowing delivery vehicles to access the warehouse directly through dedicated vehicle openings and driveway. This streamlined design minimises food handling and exposure, helping maintain product freshness and supporting efficient distribution to schools across the region.

Built around a live school campus

Constructed within the grounds of a fully operational Y-Schools facility, the project required close collaboration between the WLC and Y-Schools teams to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children attending the site while maintaining uninterrupted day-to-day operations. Careful planning and coordination allowed the project to be completed with minimal disruption to school activities throughout the build.

Delivered within a 16-week construction programme, a large portion of the works were strategically undertaken during school holiday periods to further reduce disruption to YMCA operations. The result is a high-quality, functional facility that will support YCare's community programs and positive impact on Queensland families for many years to come.
